About The Contract Manufacturing Project

The Sustainable Scale Up Cluster have been working with Welsh food and drink business to create more awareness around Contract Manufacturing.
Contract Manufacturing is when a business either outsources some elements or all of their manufacturing processes. An experienced manufacturer will produce and package products ready for sale, just like you would in your factory. Contract Manufacturing is a great process for businesses to increase capacity without losing lots of capital, such as spending on new premises and bigger equipment. On the other side, if you have excess capacity – could you become a contract manufacturer?

It was a great way for Welsh food and drink SMEs to access the brightest students within Cardiff Business School."
